For adults healing from early attachment wounds, neglect, abuse, and experience PTSD-symptoms or complex PTSD.
Do you struggle in relationships - often feeling disconnected from others? Or noticing yourself having the same fight with the same partner or reoccuring themes with different ones?
Do you find yourself constantly trying to prove your worth or feeling defeated and unloved in relationships? Do you have thoughts that you are not enough or not doing enough? Do you feel rejection from others?
Are you constantly on edge, waiting for the next "bad thing to happen", difficult to relax even when things are "good"? Do you noticed yourself avoiding people, conflict, or places either because of a specific incident or maybe you don't know why?

There is a theory that when trauma is unable to be processed completely, it gets stuck in our body. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (e.g., tapping, moving eyes side to side, audio sounds alternating from left to right ear drum) to fully process the trauma using small body movements. Sounds odd? It began as a treatment for our veterans but now has expanded to all persons with anxiety, trauma, depression, insecurities, loss of motivation, stress, and more!
EMDR is the gold standard treatment for PTSD, complex PTSD, but can also be used for overcoming performance anxiety, phobias, specific fears, and help set up future success.

Clinical Hypnotherapy is not a party trick, but actually one of the oldest the forms of psychotherapy. The famous Sigmund Freud was actually trained in Hypnotherapy and used it to form Psychoanalysis. It is the foundation of so many therapies including EMDR, IFS, Brainspotting, Ego State therapy, and Meditation/Mindfulness. It is deep, deep meditation, into the unconscious mind to increase feelings of inner peace and process trauma.

This therapy combines traditional psychotherapy with Ketamine, a dissociative anesthetic (medically approved for treatment resistant depression/PTSD/anxiety). Ketamine allows the reduction of defenses allowing for deeper (softer) processing of trauma in a contained way. It's a bit hard to describe and some people feel more comfortable exploring after a few traditional psychotherapy sessions. Anti-depressant effects are typically achieved quicker than traditional anti-depressants (e.g., Wellbutrin, Zoloft). Ketamine is typically safe even if you are already on anti-depressants but does require a ketamine evaluation from a prescriber.
Ketamine treatments are great for treatment resistant PTSD/Depression/Anxiety. You've tried therapy for 10 years and you've tried different anti-depressants, nothing works?
3-4 hour therapy intensives are offered either in person or virtually.
This is a VERY new combination therapy that is approved by EMDRIA (i.e., leading membership and credentialing organization for EMDR therapy in the United States and North America).
This is something we can explore after conducting at least one EMDR and one Ketamine session. These can be extremely gentle yet so powerfully healing. I offer these in person or virutally and can be done in 1.5-3hr sessions.
Brainspotting is a cousin to EMDR, the foundation is based in EMDR. It incoporates bilateral attention while processing fears, traumatic events, or anything that you want to work on that day. It allows your brain to organically process while having a fixed point or home base to come back to. This is an alternative option compared to EMDR (which can feel more intense). All therapies can be used interchangeably.
ART is another therapy based on EMDR. The creator of ART, Laney Rosenzweig, was actually initially trained in EMDR and branched off creating her own type of therapy. ART uses the same bilateral stimulation, eye movement just like EMDR. I always joke that ART is like EMDR and Hypnosis had a baby. It pairs eye movements with suggestive visual cue, which is really helpful especially if you are a visual or creative type of person. It is not researched as much as EMDR which is still the gold standard for trauma treatment. However, I have had great success using this modality with significant symptoms reduction within one session. ART sessions are about 1.5 hrs long and they pair very really with EMDR, Brainspotting, meditation, and Ketamine assisted psychotherapy. ART can be used for trauma, phobias, general anxiety, learning disorders such as dyslexia, depression, OCD, performance anxiety, and addictions.
CBT is a widely used and evidence-based therapeutic modality that focuses
on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It is based on
the premise that our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves, others, and the
world around us influence our emotions and drive our behaviors. I will use
CBT to help you identify and change negative or unhelpful patterns of
thinking and behavior that contribute to emotional distress or psychological
difficulties. This is a very collaborative and goal-oriented process between
the therapist and client. Let us work together to challenge and modify
cognitive distortions and develop healthier, more adaptive thoughts and
behaviors.
Trauma Focused CBT offers an additional component used for trauma processing (could be a single incident such as a car accident or death of a family member to trauma that may have lasted over many years such as parent conflict). The sessions are a mix of individual, parent trainings, and family sessions.
